Super 7 Quarterback - Max Wittek

Monarch football has been the jewel of an athletic program that has been recognized by Sports Illustrated as the #2 High School Athletic Program in America; annually competing against the best of the best in Southern California. The numbers and text within the Mater Dei football history book jump off the pages and captivate you with magnetic appeal. The story reads 468 wins and only 176 losses, 25 league championships, 9 CIF championships, 2 USA Today National Championships, 5 undefeated seasons, and only 4 losing seasons. Interestingly enough, amongst all of this literary treasure and legacy, you read that Mater Dei is one of only two high schools in all the land to have produced two Heisman Trophy winners; both quarterbacks. This is where we begin drafting a new chapter to Mater Dei’s rich quarterback legacy…

Super 7 Quarterback - Kyle Boehm

The 2010 Steve Clarkson Super 7 award recipient, Kyle Boehm from Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose, CA mirrors the intensity and game face I witnessed that day in East Rutherford, NJ. Kyle Boehm is your ultimate competitor, who at 6’3 220lbs, seized every opportunity presented to him throughout the 2010 Steve Clarkson Dreammaker Tour solidifying his position within our elite fraternity of quarterbacks that includes Ben Roethlisberger, Matt Leinart, Matt Cassel, Jimmy Clausen, Josh Freeman and numerous others.

Super 7 Quarterback - Brett Hundley, Jr.

Meet Arizona’s Chandler High School soon to be graduate and student-athlete Brett Hundley, Jr. The Steve Clarkson 2010 Super 7 Award recipient and No. 5 ranked quarterback in the country per ESPN Scouts Inc., has big dreams and goals for himself on the football field and off. Naturally the “off” the field notation could be interpreted as rigorous weight-room training, speed, strength and agility training at another location, or possibly translated as a lot of football film and classroom study sessions. However, engage yourself in intellectual conversation with the recent UCLA Bruin’s commit and you will discover that Brett Hundley, Jr. is equally serious if not more about his academic and post-football career in medicine.

Super 7 Quarterback - Jerrard Randall

I witnessed that same magnetic force and moment happen for a youth quarterback at our 2010 Steve Clarkson Super 7 Retreat in Maui this past summer, when he saw Super 7 quarterback Jerrard Randall throw his first pass during drills. The young man was in awe of the velocity in which Jerrard delivered the ball down the field; he turned directly to his father who I was conversing with and excitedly asked him, “Dad did you see that!?! That was amazing! Who is that?” Upon taking a moment to share with him that the athlete was Class of 2011 University of Oregon commit and Super 7 award recipient Jerrard Randall from Chaminade-Madonna High School in Florida, he replied “I want to be like him – wow.” I remember that first throw well hence there was a buzz that came over the spectators immediately after Jerrard’s first repetition followed by an “I didn’t just see that” silence.

Super 7 Quarterback - Jeff Lindquist

Mercer Island (WA), located in the Seattle Metropolitan Area, is the most populated island in a lake within the United States. Outside of that bit of factual information, Mercer Island is also home to one of the most promising high school quarterback prospects in all of the land – Class of 2012 quarterback Jeffrey Lindquist from Mercer Island High School. A prototype quarterback build at 6’4 225lb, Jeffrey was one of seven quarterbacks selected on a national level for the prestigious Steve Clarkson Super 7 award program. What makes his selection for this award more intriguing is that Jeffrey was one of two underclassmen to ever be selected for this acknowledgement, joining an elite fraternity of quarterbacks under Steve Clarkson that includes Matt Barkley, Terrele Pryor, Jake Locker, Matt Leinart, Matt Cassel, Ben Roethlisberger, Josh Freeman, amongst others.
